JESUP, Ga. (AP) - Sixty textile mill employees are out of work after a south Georgia plant closed its doors.
Georgia Narrow Fabrics, owned by New York investment firm GSC Partners, shuttered its plant in Jesup on Friday after three decades of operation. The plant was moved to Honduras.
The mill produced material for garments made by manufacturers, many of whom have already moved offshore.
Though operations have stopped, some employees will remain until the building is empty. The company had already reduced the plant's employees by 40 in anticipation of closing the mill.
