Walterboro, SC – Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina will celebrate the Grand Opening of its new Walterboro Goodwill Retail Store, located at 112 Robertson Blvd, on Friday, August 14. The celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. with the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce. Goodwill will present Mayor Bill Young and the City of Walterboro with the “Key to Goodwill Industries” to signify Goodwill’s dedication to the city and commitment to serving the community.
The Grand Opening Celebration will immediately follow. Festivities include:
• Prize drawings every half hour including electronics, home décor and more!

• Live radio broadcasts from WEZL 103.5, Country 106.9 and Z93 Jamz!
• Free hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
The new 15,000 square foot retail store features 9,500 square feet of shopping area along with a convenient drive-through donation center for donors. Also planned to open at a later date, is a 1,000 square foot JobLink Center which will offer individuals free employment services such as access to computers for job searches, assistance with resumes and other resources.
Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is a nonprofit social service organization whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work. Over 90 percent of Goodwill’s revenue goes to fund mission related services. Goodwill serves their mission by providing career counseling, job training, and other employment related programs to people who have barriers to employment. Last year, Goodwill was able to place over 900 people into new jobs and served over 17,000 in South Carolina.
