A bankruptcy judge said Tuesday that Chrysler can go ahead with its plan to terminate the franchises of 789 of its dealers. The judge says the businesses can no longer act as authorized dealers.

Most dealers stand to lose thousands even though they have been told they can have additional time, until June 15th, to sell inventory to other dealers who are keeping their franchises.

Savannah Dodge and Claxton Chrysler Dodge Jeep must now stop selling and service new cars and trucks.

The owner of of the Claxton dealership says he will be closing. The owner of Savannah Dodge says he plans to stay in business and sell used cars.
