Unveiling the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

On May 16th the Vaden Lowcountry in Beaufort is proudly unveiling the highly anticipated debut of the next generation 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The unveiling will take place on May 16th during the 2009 MCAS Beaufort Airshow. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.

The original 1967 Chevrolet Camaro set a benchmark in what a performance sports car should be and quickly became an American icon. When Chevy stopped the vehicle’s production in 2002, it left a giant hole in the American made sports coupe genre and also in many enthusiasts’ hearts.

The arrival of this legend is highly anticipated for both loyal fans of the classic, and also new generations of avid sports car fans.
At a first glance, it’s easy to recognize subtle hints of the retro styling that popularized the vehicle in the 60s. It’s not excessively retro, however, and the sleek and aggressive new design touches add modern appeal.

The base V-6 model delivers an overly impressive 306 hp. That’s more than both the comparable model Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger. Upgrades are the V-8 versions resulting in a 426 hp 6.2 liter engine. Both models are available in both automatic and manual transmission.

Chevrolet also placed a great emphasis on the vehicles safety features. All models come with standard ABS, traction control, front and side curtain airbags, and an antiskid system.

Even more impressive is the fact that the Camaro gets 29 highway miles per gallon. Priced under $25k for the base model, it’s clear that the Camaro’s revival has set a new standard on sports car value.
