Hilton Head, SC – Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina will celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of its Hilton Head Goodwill Retail Store, located at 91 Mathews Drive, on Friday, October 9. The celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. with the Hilton Head Island – Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. Goodwill will present Mayor Thomas D. Peeples and the Town of Hilton Head Island with the “Key to Goodwill Industries” to signify Goodwill’s dedication to the city and commitment to serving the community.
The Grand Opening Celebration will immediately follow. Festivities include:
• Prize drawings every half hour from noon to 2 p.m.
• Sign up for a Goodwill Rewards Card!
• Live radio broadcasts from 107.9 The Coast.
• Free hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
The new Hilton Head location will make shopping and donating even more convenient with its donation drive-thru center. The new store is moving into a new building that was previously a Japanese restaurant, but is remaining in the same shopping center.
Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is a nonprofit social service organization whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work. Over 90 percent of Goodwill’s revenue goes to fund mission related services. Goodwill serves their mission by providing career counseling, job training, and other employment related programs to people who have barriers to employment. Last year, Goodwill was able to place over 900 people into new jobs and served over 17,000 in South Carolina.
