A military drama, an archeological thriller, and superheroes galore.
That's some of what you'll find new on DVD store shelves this week.
“Stop Loss” is the title of this military drama starring Ryan
Phillipe.
He plays a decorated Iraq war hero back home from his tour of duty.
But just as he's getting used to civilian life, the army suddenly
And unexpectedly orders him back to Iraq.
That leaves him with the decision of whether to obey.
"Stop Loss" is rated R.
They do if they're in the thriller, "The Ruins".
This one's based on the best selling book about four friends who find themselves in a fight for survival while visiting Mexican ruins.
They discover there's more than fossils there, something that's still very much alive.
"The Ruins" is available in unrated and R rated versions as well as Blue Ray.
But maybe not the same look you're used to seeing from the caped crusader.
"Batman: Gotham Knight" gives several animators a chance to apply
their respective styles to the dark knight.
Six different stories are all interwoven on this all new PG-13 rated offering.
It's available in single and double disc editions, as well as Blu-Ray.
With "The Dark Knight" in theaters next week, it's predecessor, "Batman Begins" is being offered up on Blu-Ray for the first time.
There's a single disc version and a double disc limited edition.
That one also has some batman post cards, a Batman flash drive and other collectibles included.
If you like some laughs with your superheroes, "Superhero Movie" is here to save the day.
It spoofs the long line of comic book adaptations we've seen in recent years.
Drake Bell stars as a teen whose alter ego is "The Dragonfly".
He has to overcome unbelievably uncomfortable tights to defeat the evil
"Hourglass".
This one's available in PG-13 and unrated versions.
