Give "Wanted" some credit.
Not a lot, but some.
Taken from a graphic novel, the story about an ancient society of assassins has an edgy look.
Angelina Jolie plays one of the members of the society called "The Fraternity" who takes the son of a recently murdered assassin under her wing.
This unleashes one furious action scene after another.
Morgan Freeman, like the other two stars, obviously taking the money and running, plays the head of "The Fraternity", hoping to train the young newcomer so he can avenge his father's death.
By now, the movie gets stupid.
We're asked to believe, for example, that these folks can shoot around people and reach the intended target.
The only redeeming part of this otherwise miserable film just happens to be one of the greatest action sequences ever filmed.
Still, that sequence aside, "Wanted" is an endless bloodbath of shootings, knifings, revenge, gore and mayhem.
It will stultify your brain.
