The top talents in the world of television were honored Sunday night in Los Angeles.  "30 Rock," "John Adams," and "Mad Men" were among the shows taking top honors.

On a night when Tina Fey could in "30 Rock's" Emmy glory, including best comedy, she was still getting questions about her Sarah Palin skit on "Saturday Night Live."

Tina Fey said "first of all, I was very resistant to acknowledge that there was a resemblance, and then my kid saw her on TV, saw Sarah Palin on TV and said, 'that's mommy', which was not great!"

Politics brought an Emmy to Paul Giamatti.  Best actor in a mini series for playing the nation's second president in "John Adams."

Paul Giamatti says "not a lot has changed.  Actually, I think it might have been worse back then.  In some ways, I think they even were nastier than they are now."

The 1960s period piece "Mad Men" made history by becoming the first basic cable series to win best drama.

Jon Hamm said "it's the thing that you dream about.  You dream about getting a chance to

play something this rich, and layered, and varied, and sad, and funny and beautiful all at the same time."

Glenn Close scored another win for basic cable, taking best actress in a drama for "Damages."

Glenn Close said "I am so energized, challenged, thrilled by the work that we all do together at Damages.  It really is the ride of my career."

The best actor win for "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston brought back other memories.

Bryan Cranston said "this was nice, because the tension was mounting.  My wife's breathing was reminiscent of when our baby was born.  I was timing it.  Her water even broke. I don't know why.  She's not even pregnant."

But there's still an Emmy to celebrate.
