40-year-old Norma Mitchell is battled breast cancer twice. She's been too sick to work, lost her insurance and her savings is gone. Faced with a mountain of medical bills she's not giving up on life. "I'm doing fine. I have been still seeing my doctor and haven't been in pain lately so that's very good for me,” says Norma.
Her need connected with the owners of Oglethorpe Trolley Tours. "Ginger my wife was diagnosed with cancer 6 and a half years ago and we decided we would give back to the community and help out in every way we can," says Adam Wilkins.
Wilkins sponsors Tour For A Cure during breast cancer awareness month. Each Saturday he gives a donation from ticket sales to a person in need. His family and employees can relate to Norma's story and felt they had to help. "We're very blessed here at Oglethorpe Tours and we count our blessings and we want to share them with the community," says Tour Guide Janet Sivils. "We felt it was important once I got through it, and I was a survivor to help those in need also," says Ginger Wilkins. The gift is overwhelming to Norma .
"It's going to help me financially with bills especially, and I'm very grateful for the donation."
