Tanger Outlet Centers nationwide, are celebrating their 15th anniversary in the battle against breast cancer this September 17 – October 19, 2008. Tanger has a history of making a difference in the communities it serves across the country. Since 1994, Tanger Outlet Centers has contributed in excess of $5.1 million to help create awareness for the importance of early detection, to support educational programs to improve the quality of life for patients and families and most importantly to help fund research necessary to find a prevention and a cure for breast cancer. In 2007 alone, Tanger centers raised more than $600,000.
Money raised by Tanger is donated to local breast cancer beneficiaries through the Stanley K. Tanger Breast Cancer Fund.

In 2008, Tanger will raise money through the sale of the new 25% Pink Card. For a $1 donation, shoppers will receive a special card that will give them 25% OFF at participating Tanger stores nationwide. According to the American Cancer Society An estimated 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the US in 2008, and about 40,480 deaths are expected.
