(Savannah) Connie Helton loves life . In addition to her husband and two young girls, she now has twins to be thankful for. "They're real fun. It's been. I think it make everything easier you know cause you've gotta keep going for them," says Connie. You see -Connie has crossed many hills and valleys.
"My faith has just kind of just kept me centered and has gotten me through everything." Diagnosed with breast cancer in August Connie had a mastectomy which did no harm to the twins. Born September 17th, little Susannah Grace and Christopher junior are a precious handful. Seeing and juggling double, the Helton's are showered with support from their church family. "They come every Tuesday and Thursday and rock and do laundry. Whatever needs to be done. I have people that make meals for me. Friends will take my older daughter and Sarah and they'll take them out to play. So its been really really helpful. They'll come by so I can take a nap for an hour or so." Trying to work the magic and dealing with everyday challenges Connie just finished her third chemotherapy treatment. "When I think about other people who are going through different things and are having a harder time at it it really makes me feel really blessed that I am so luck and I have these little ones and I have these kids to help keep me going." A journey for a wife and mother who has the courage to withstand it all....and remain thankful. "It's a real blessing. There's no way to thank everybody enough for what they have done for us." Connie says she will have her last chemo treatment in January. The babies are doing well and two months old now.
