St Vincent's Goes "Pink" For A Good Cause

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The ladies of St Vincent's Academy worked to brighten everyone's day, one t-shirt at a time.

It was called "Spike for Life, Dig for a Cure."

Thursday's volleyball game was the end of a week of fundraising activities.

The goal, to help raise awareness, and money for the fight against breast cancer.

"How appropriate is it to bring this to this place, this all female school?" explains Sister Pat Coward, St Vincent's Athletic Director and Assistant Principal. "This incredible tradition of female education. 168 years of educating women. This is where it's got to happen."

Every dollars from ticket sales, concessions, t-shirts, and the day's events was donated to the Women's Coalition. A group that supports young survivors of cancer.

In all, the school raised more than $3000.
