No one disagrees that fire sprinklers save lives. But there's a huge disagreement over whether they should be required in all new homes in South Carolina.
"Not only is it important to exercise, but we also have a chef that comes in and teaches us about healthy eating, not only is it about healthy eating habits, but we also tell them about the importance of cleaning the environment. So we do a lot of community service, it's all the way around, it's not just one area of your life, you have to be balanced," said Lofton.
"I actually came out to speak about the school budget, and the fact that the school board has approved a tax increase. I don't think it's right to do that especially in this day and age when so many people are hurting," said Bluffton neighbor, Jane Kenny.
A weekend pick-up soccer game on Hilton Head had a long time-out, and it's all because of the stellar work of the goalkeeper. Problem was - the goalkeeper turned out to be a 13-foot-gator, and he wouldn't turn the ball loose.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that put a man in the hospital Friday night.
As part of this week, officials will be conducting free boat inspections at Lemon Island on Saturday from 10 a.m. to Noon and the same time on Sunday at Pinckney Island, because they want boaters to get checked out before they even get on the water.
"Over the years we have contributed to the children of Hilton Head more than $600,000, from the time we've been in inception to present,so it amounts to a lot of dollars and over the next 20 years we hope to do the same if not double it it would be great!" said member Ray Carlton.
Neighbors had the chance to taste more than 60 craft beers from over 20 breweries at the first Hilton Head Island Craft Beer Festival.
