Autopsy Planned for FL Infant Left in Car

»  Comments | Post a Comment

An autopsy is planned today for an eight-month-old baby who died after being left in a car for two hours.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the baby girl was in her parents' car for about two hours before being missed Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say both the baby's 17-year-old mother and 26-year-old father thought the other had retrieved the baby from her car seat after the family returned home.

The infant was found unresponsive in her car seat. A neighbor attempted to resuscitate the baby until paramedics arrived. The baby was pronounced dead at a hospital.

No charges have been filed.
