The probation officer responsible for monitoring a sex offender currently on the run has now been removed from all sex offender cases.
A Georgia Department of Corrections spokeswoman tells us this step allows them to review officer Dexter Williams' performance.
Stephen Alexander Bell apparently cut off an electronic monitoring bracelet a week before local authorities were ever asked to search for him. The Georgia Department of Corrections says this never should have happened.
A team of US marshals, corrections officers and local law enforcement continue searching for Bell and say finding him is their number one priority. Stephen Bell is five feet six inches tall, has blue eyes and brown hair. He also has a jolly roger tattoo on his left shoulder.
