Tonight there's a chance of isolated evening thunderstorms with partly cloudy skies. Lows will drop down into the mid 70s with winds from the southwest at 10-15mph.
Monday we'll see more partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid 90s with the heat index up over 100 degrees in the afternoon. Winds will be from the southwest at 10-15mph.
A ridge of high pressure will build into the southeast over the next few days. That will allow our afternoon highs to climb, and the heat index along with them. By Tuesday and Wednesday we could once again see dangerous conditions with the heat index up near 110 degrees, especially in the inland areas. A trough should push that ridge out by the end of the week, with an associated cold front at the surface coming close enough to bring us a better chance of thunderstorms by Friday.
