Release from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED):
SLED agents in conjunction with several law enforcement agencies continue searching for whoever is responsible for the shooting death of Colleton County Deputy Dennis Compton.
SLED investigators have not made an arrest in this case. Law enforcement has been conducting interviews and following leads since the deadly shooting happened Wednesday, August 6.
Director Reggie Lloyd says, “We are not leaving. Our law enforcement presence will be felt until this case is solved and the person or persons responsible for Deputy Compton’s death are arrested and brought to justice.”
Law enforcement extends a sincere appreciation to those citizens who have helped with this investigation.
