An Internal Revenue Service retiree has filed claim to a Georgia Lottery win. Fred Rhodes of Brunswick won $43,059 by matching all five winning numbers in the Dec. 3 Fantasy 5 drawing.
Rhodes, 61, visited a Georgia Lottery retailer for a printout of the draw results and discovered his win.
“The message board said, ‘One winner from Brunswick,’ ” Rhodes explained. “I said, ‘Gee, I hope it’s me,’ and it was.”
Winning numbers for the drawing were: 6-12-14-15-38. Rhodes purchased his Quik Pik ticket at One Stop #0042, 4544 Old Cypress Road in Brunswick.
Rhodes, who retired from the IRS 11 years ago, is married with four children and two grandchildren. The family is excited about the lucky lottery win.
“We’re going to pay some bills, have a little extra for Christmas, give the children and grandchildren a little bit, and put some up,” he said.
