Sober or Slammer Campaign in Effect in SC

Hampton County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone to enjoy the holidays responsibly and to remember that SC is participating in the Sober or Slammer Campaign.

During this holiday season, it is important to enjoy the company of family and friends, but it is also important to enjoy the holidays responsibly.

Hampton County Sheriff T.C. Smalls, along with the 14th Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Network, wishes to remind everyone to designate a driver when attending holiday parties to make sure that when you depart from the event, you can arrive home safely.

"Drinking and driving never mix, so if you are planning on attending holiday parties, designate a driver to ensure not only your own safety, but the safety of others who may be on the roads this holiday season," Hampton County Sheriff T.C. Smalls said.

The 14th Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Network has already begun participating in the Sober or Slammer Campaign within the state and will continue to be out in force throughout the holidays. The campaign began as an effort to educate the public about the dangers of drinking and driving while enforcing traffic laws.

"We want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season," Smalls said.
