ATLANTA (AP) - Five of the workers injured when a pedestrian walkway under construction collapsed at the Atlanta Botanical Garden are set to be transferred to a hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries.
Larry Bowie, a spokesman for the Shepherd Center, said five of the 10 workers still being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital would be transferred to the specialized hospital Tuesday.
Grady spokeswoman Denise Simpson said Tuesday morning that 10 patients remained at the hospital, eight in fair condition and two in intensive care.
The construction accident on Friday killed one worker and sent 18 others to the hospital.
