We're nearly a week away from the start of curbside recycling in Savannah -- and the hype has already begun. Representatives from the city's sanitation department along with community recycling advocates held a rally today at the corner of Abercorn and Mall Boulevard. Their goal - to get the community as fired up about the project as they are. Curtis Sanders works with the city’s program and says, “It's important to know that recycling is a part of this and it all fall under the umbrella of stewardship and that's one of our goals - we want to make everybody better stewards of our environment.” In the past month - the recycling carts have been delivered to 48-thousand households throughout Savannah. Curbside recycling begins January 5th.
