Two road closures will be enforced beginning around midnight on New Year's Eve and into the early morning hours of January 1, 2009 in the hopes of easing congestion as people try to leave the downtown area after events.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police will begin to enforce two road closures, as traffic warrants, to keep traffic moving through and out of the downtown area as people leave the core.
MLK and BAY: Vehicles traveling WESTBOUND on Bay Street will NOT be allowed to turn LEFT on to Martin Luther King Blvd.
MONTGOMERY STREET: Vehicles traveling NORTHBOUND on Montgomery Street will be diverted to either turn right or left (east or west) onto Oglethorpe.
