ARTS COUNCIL OF APPLING COUNTY PRESENTS "SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL"

Appling Community Theatre is pleased to offer such a FUN-tastic Musical production based on the works of Dr. SEUSS. They will offer four performances at the Appling County High School-Fine Arts Center in Baxley, on Friday, February 29, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m.

"I can see that you've got quite a mind for your age!  Why, one Think and you dragged me right onto the stage!  Now, I'm here, there is no telling what may ensue with a Cat such as me, and a Thinker like you!"

So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Authors Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!

These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and "thinker of strange and wonderful thinks"! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss's subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages.

The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild!

Come open your imagination as the cast of Seussical take you on Seuss-sational journey and bring your favorite Dr. Seuss characters to life right before your eyes.

The Arts Council encourages you, your family, and your friends to come help us celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday (Born: March 2, 1904). This show is loved by all ages! Adults will laugh just as hard as the children!

Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce in Baxley, Alma, and Hazlehurst. We have several ticket specials available: Pre-sale Special- purchase your ticket before February 29 and adult tickets are only $10 each; Child Special - children get in FREE on Saturday, March 1 at the 2:00 p.m. matinee (limit 2 children per paid adult ticket); and Senior Special - senior citizens (age 65+) tickets are only $10 each for the Sunday, March 2 at the 2:00 p.m. matinee; Regular/Door Admission Prices: adults $15.00 and students (Pre-K+) $5.00.
