Beaufort Authorities Investigating Armed Robbery

Lowcountry authorities are looking for a trio of armed robbery suspects.

The Beaufort Police Department says around 8:20 last night, two men were robbed at gunpoint near the Lafayette Square apartments on Lafayette Street.

We're told the men were on bicycles returning to the apartment complex from a nearby store. A white mid-sized car stopped in front of them and two subjects got out of the vehicle and confronted them.

Officials say one of the suspects pointed a shotgun at the men and demanded money. The victims turned over their wallets and the suspects fled in the white car. The vehicle was last seen traveling down Park Avenue.

The suspects are described as three thin black males dressed in all black. No one was injured during the incident.
