One of the men Savannah-Chatham Police have charged in the murder of a 19-year-old last year was arraigned earlier today.

A judge denied bond to 21-year-old James Jonathan Mitchell and set his preliminary hearing for Monday, January 28th.

Mitchell surrendered to police Thursday night, after homicide detectives identified him earlier in the day, as one of those connected with the shooting death of Wimbleton Baker back on October 25, 2007.

At the time of the shooting incident, witnesses reported seeing at least three occupants speeding away from the 3100 block of Martha Street, in a dark colored sport utility vehicle, after spraying the neighborhood with bullets.

Baker, along with and one other person who survived, were struck by the gunfire.
