A man who was shot and refused to cooperate with police is at Memorial Health University Medical Center recovering from his wounds.
Aki Palmer, 22, of Savannah suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach Tuesday night. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are now seeking anyone with information on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of East 54th Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. on a report of the shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim alert and conscious, with his wounds. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital.
The officers canvassed the area and found evidence of a shooting in the 1100 block of East 54th Street. Detectives attempted to get details from the victim, but he refused to give his name, a motive, or any suspect information.
A witness told police that Palmer had left his home to go to a corner convenient store. He returned a short time later with a gunshot wound. Residents reported hearing the gunfire.
