»  Comments | Post a Comment

Authorities have made their first arrest in a fighting incident at Savannah High School last week, that sent a 17-year-old student to the hospital.

We're told around 5:00 Wednesday afternoon, a 16-year-old Savannah High student surrendered to Campus Police.

Officials say he was transported to the Youth Detention Center pending a hearing on charges of aggravated battery and disrupting public schools. The student is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court Friday morning.

The 17-year old student injured in the attack was reportedly jumped by seven students on January 17th and thrown through a trophy case.

Authorities tell us they have also identified one 17-year-old and two 18-year-olds in the incident as suspects, but are not releasing their names at this time.
