WWII Grenade found in Isle of Hope

»  Comments | Post a Comment

There were tense moments today off Aimar Avenue in the Isle of Hope area after a neighbor found a World War II era grenade near a boat house.

That got a lot of attention from the fire department, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the sheriff's office and bomb experts from Fort Stewart.

ATF eventually detonated the device safely, and no one was injured.
