Recyclers Trashing Savannah Neighborhood

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Some folks trying to do the right thing for the environment are trashing a Westside Savannah neighborhood.

Folks in the Carver Village and Carver Heights area have been complaining about the Sonoco Recycling site for years. Apparently, recyclers continue to pile on plastic bottles, bags and other trash long after the uncovered bins are overflowing.

When the wind picks up, any loose trash is blown across West Gwinnett Street and right into the entrance of Carver Heights. Days later, you can still see it in the grass, bushes, trees and along the road.

Watch the attached video to hear what neighbors, city leaders and the company have to say about the issue.
