We've gotten feedback from a lot of voters praising the poll workers for the rather painless process. Kudos to every volunteer, but we especially highlight this a Hardeeville family. It’s a poll-working-family, three generations all dedicated to serving their extended family in Hardeeville.
The story starts 32 years ago when Joyce Meeks gained a desire to help those who proudly exercise their right to vote.
"To me, it's very important you get out and vote. I feel you don't have a voice in government if you don't get out and vote,” Meeks said.
The next chapter picks up 27 years ago when her daughter Kim chose to follow her mother's path.
"It's become a tradition, I guess you would say, with us knowing what being part of the political team helps change the world, Powell said.
And the climax came Tuesday, when 18-year-old first time voter Amber Powell joined Mom and Grandma at the polls, finally witnessing the stories she's heard throughout the years.
"A lot of people were in line when we came here this morning. And we came here at six and there were a lot of people in line,” Amber Powell said.
From sun-up to sundown, it's three generations working out of pride for their community and country and sharing a little fun of what's become a family tradition.
