The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Wildlife Resources Division launched a new online hunting and fishing license system on November 12th.
With the new online recreational license system, available at www.georgiawildlife.com, customers are able to print out licenses immediately with their personal printers. Users looking to purchase, renew or replace fishing and hunting licenses should select "Recreational Licenses" under the "Permits and Services" box on the division's Web site to log into the new system.
Additionally, the new system will allow customers the option of purchasing hunting and fishing licenses by telephone. Those customers should call 1-800-366-2661 and select option three.
"It is important for people to know that with the activation of the new telephone sales, Active Networks will issue customers a temporary authorization number until the process is complete," explained Capt. Mike England of the division's License and Boat Registration Unit. "Once hunting and fishing licenses are completely processed, customers should receive their licenses in the mail within seven days."
There are costs associated with the new recreational license system. A new convenience fee will be applied to all transactions, either single or multiple. Hunting and fishing license purchases have a $2.75 convenience fee for Internet transactions, a $4 convenience fee for telephone transactions and a $3.25 convenience fee for transactions completed at participating retail agents.
