Bacon Park Citizens Fighting to Prevent Rezoning

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Neighbors in an eastside Savannah community are trying to stop new development from being built there.

The area in question is along LaRoche Avenue right between Derenne and Jasmine Avenue.

The developer, Nicholas Hale, wants to have this plot of land rezoned from single family homes to multi-family residential.  The plan as it stands now is to have 16 townhomes built.     Hale is the fifth developer in four years that’s tried to build in Bacon Park.

Neighbors’ issues with the project include everything from flooding to traffic.

Those for and against the project will get a chance to speak out tonight.  It’s the second of two public hearings about plans to rezone the land.  The meeting starts at 6:30p.m. at the Eagles Club in Bacon Park.

If you can’t make it, we’ll have all the details tonight on News Three at eleven.
