Roadside litter can be an eyesore, but roadside dumping is too much for one neighbor to handle.
"Kids’ toys, it's awful. There's a piece of glass here,” Lucy Roberts said of the trash alongside Buckhalter Road in Savannah.
But those who treat her neighborhood as a landfill are just about to get the best of her.
"This is very mild. It usually is five times that much,” she said of what’s there now.
And just over a mile up Buckhalter Road is a pure pile of tires. It is the just the latest addition of what's being dumped alongside the road. And so the cycle continues.
"We call the county and the county will go and clean it up and the people start putting it right back out here. And it turns into this huge pile of old furniture and trash,’ Roberts said.
She feels she's doing the right things to keep her community a nice place to live.
"We called News Three On Your Side,” she said of her last resort.
She’s hoping that route will work and that the ones behind the mess are turning in to this story.
"We have a brand new school right down the street that just opened up this year. And these kids have to ride down the street and ride right past this. And it's just not right. Just use the county landfill. That's what it's for,” Roberts said.
