Child abuse is a troubling and unfortunately, growing problem in communities across the country. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there are nearly 3 million reports of child abuse made each year- with the actual rate estimated to be 3 times greater than what's reported.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Locally, the Junior League of Savannah is involved in an outreach campaign to educate folks on the impact of family violence on our children.
The junior league will kick-off to its media campaign Thursday, April 16th at 6 pm at AVIA located at 14 Barnard Street. Look for billboards, brochures, and bus ads across Chatham County in the near future.
