If you thumb through the May 2009 edition of "Black Enterprise Magazine" (www.blackenterprise.com), you might stumble across two familiar faces. Savannahians Tony and DaVena Jordan are the focus of an article in the business publication. The two are founders of A.W.O.L. (All Walks of Life), Inc., a non-profit youth organization. This is the second time this year the couple has donned the pages of a national publication. In Jauary, they were featured in "Edutopia Magazine" (www.edutopia.org) published by filmmaker and "Star Wars" creator George Lucas.
Expect to hear even more from the team. They are organizers of the upcoming Savannah Urban Arts Festival (www.savannahurbanartsfestival.com). The event is a six-day series of live performances, forums, workshops, and film screenings to celebrate diversity in art, music, writing and self-expression. The festival gets underway May 5th.
