3rd ID Soldier Dies in Iraq

A 3rd Infantry Division Soldier has died in Iraq from a non-combat related incident.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Jaiciae L. Pauley, 29, of Austell, Ga., died Dec. 11 in Kirkuk, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. A spokesperson at Fort Stewart says Pauley was an ambulance aid and driver. He joined in June of 2008 and was assigned to the 3rd ID in January of 2009. This was his first deployment.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
