LADY’S ISLAND, SC (December 14/10:00 AM) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged armed robbery early Sunday morning. Just after 3:00 am Sunday, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fairfield Road Tiger Express on Lady’s Island on a call of an armed robbery. The victim, a 47-year old man, told deputies that he’d been waiting for a ride home in the parking lot of the Tiger Express when he was approached by two teens who asked him for a cigarette.
The victim told deputies that one of the suspects then showed a knife and demanded money. The victim first told deputies that he handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, but then deputies say he changed his story and told them that nothing was stolen. The victim was uninjured and deputies say he appeared to be intoxicated. No further description or direction of travel was available for the possible suspects.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information to please contact either Investigator Cpl B. Chapman at 843-470-3469 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
