Deadly Savannah Intersection to Get Traffic Signal

»  Comments | Post a Comment

What's described as one of the most deadly intersections in West Chatham County will soon have a traffic signal.
That's after the city council approved the funding at today's council meeting.
The intersection of Jimmy Deloach and Benton Boulevard has been the site of three deadly accidents in as many years.
This area was rural at one point, but is now the main thoroughfare to the port and in a couple of months there will be even more traffic because of a new school.
Motorists and law enforcement have been telling us for several years that a traffic light is needed here.
A light will be placed at Jimmy Deloach and Benton Boulevard and at Jimmy Deloach and Crossroads Parkway, another intersection with a high rate of accidents.
The total cost will be a little over eighty eight thousand dollars.
