Police said Steven C. Blitch is charged with burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Authorities said a man is in custody for trying to break into a home on Wylly Island Drive around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said the victim told them she arrived home and saw a man emerging from the back of her home.
Officer said Steven C. Blitch came up to the woman and said he was there to see her husband about some "work". The woman told authorities she could see Blitch trying to hide a crowbar behind his back as he walked away to get into his car.
Police arrived and found pry marks at the back and side entrances to the home. Authorities said they found Blitch still in the area and he confessed to the crime.
Officials said Blitch is facing charges of burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. He was taken to the Chatham County Detention Center and will face a judge Monday.
