A Barnwell County woman who had been missing for three days has been located in Hampton County by deer hunters. She was found alive in her car.
Carolyn J. Smith, 64, was reported missing three days ago by her family. She and her vehicle were located by deer hunters off of Old Salkehatchie Road along a fire line.
Hampton County Sheriff's deputies searched vigorously for Smith when she was missing throughout the county for the past three days. The car was located away from a roadway down a fire line.
Around 4:10p.m. Monday, dispatch in Hampton County received a call that the car had been located and there was a woman in the car that had been there for three days. Hampton County EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported Smith to Hampton Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
