Skidaway Island Bank Robbery

Metro Police and the FBI are investigating a robbery at the Regions Bank located at 6 Skidaway Village Walk.

SKIDAWAY ISLAND, Ga. -- Metro Police and the FBI are investigating a robbery at the Regions Bank located at 6 Skidaway Village Walk.

Police said the call came in at 2:21 p.m. Monday.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said a black male armed with a silver handgun demanded money from bank employees. Authorities said he got away with cash in a shopping bag.

Officials are looking for a black male about 5'11" to 6' tall, weighing about 200 lbs. He is described as having low-cut facial hair and wearing black clothing.

Police immediately started checking vehicles leaving Skidaway Island. Witnesses said at least one person might have crossed paths with the robber at the entrance of the bank.
