EATONVILLE, Wash. (AP) - The man accused of shooting and
injuring two sheriff's officers in Washington state has been
identified as 35-year-old David E. Crable.
Sheriff's officials say a sergeant and deputy were shot by
Crable Monday at 8:48 p.m. Both officers were taken to area
hospitals.
Crable was killed in the shooting.
Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the officers
were responding to a dispute between Crable and his brother at a
home near Eatonville, a rural community in the Cascade foothills.
Pierce County sheriff's records show Crable was convicted
earlier this year of exhibiting or displaying a weapon with intent
to intimidate.
He also has been arrested for malicious mischief and assault.
