Two downtown Savannah businesses have closed their doors. Blaming the recession the Vanilla Day Spa and Downtown Athletic Club are closed.
The owner of Vanilla Day Spa says they tried to hang in as long as they could but recently got word bankruptcy was their only option.
Vanilla day spa is trying to work out a way for people with gift cards to be able to redeem them somewhere else. If you do have a gift card the owners are asking you to call 912-232-0040. Please leave the gift card number and your phone number.
We put a call into the athletic club but did not hear back.
In the meantime Kayak Kafe, which sits right next to the two businesses, will remain open. On their facebook page they say "We are sad to see that our neighbors have closed their doors. We have maintained a symbiotic relationship with them for quite some time and they will be missed."
