Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have laid charges in relation to the Vincente Baker homicide on December 11 on Commercial Drive.
On December 11, 2008 Metro Police responded to a report of shots heard in the area of Commercial Drive. Officer’s found Vincente Elkwah Baker and Shameka Latrell Andrews suffering from gunshot wounds. Vincente Baker died a short time later and Shameka Andrews was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Metro Police charged 37-year-old Eric Leonard Maxwell of Savannah with Aggravated Assault on December 12 in connection with the shooting of Shameka Andrews. Separate from that date, Eric Maxwell was charged with murder in connection with the murder of Vincente Baker on December 23.
Eric Maxwell is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center.
