The 14th Judicial Circuit's Law Enforcement Network worked through the holidays keeping the roads safe and writing numerous citations on Dec. 26, 2008 in Jasper County and Jan. 3, 2009 in Hampton County.
Several agencies participated in the events, including the Hampton County Sheriff's Office, the Yemassee Police Department, the Ridgeland Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Although the holidays are over, traffic enforcement will continue throughout the year.
The following is a breakdown of offenses and how many citations were written within the time period:
1) Speeding/ 34 citations
2) Headlight Out/ 1 citation
3) Improper Towing/ 2 citations
4) No S.C. Driver's License/ 3 citations
5) ABC Violation/ 3 citations
6) Failure To Yield Right Of Way/ 1 citation
7) Driver's License Violation/ 2 citations
8) Defective Equipment (No Tag Light)/ 6 citations
9) Child Restraint/ 3 citations
10) Simple Possession Of Marijuana/ 3 citations
11) No Driver's License In Possession/ 1 citation
12) Possession Of An Unlawful Weapon/ 1 citation
13) Possesion With Intent To Distribute Cocaine/ 1 citation
14) Possession Of Crack/Cocaine/ 1 citation
15) Driving Under Suspension/ 3 citations
16) Open Container/ 5 citations
17) Violation Of A Beginner's Permit/ 1 citation
18) Improper Turn/ 2 citations
19) Seat Belt Violation/ 3 citations
