The Bluffton Police Department will be conducting two Public Safety Check Points in the Bluffton area on Friday, January 9, 2009.

The first will be on Bluffton Parkway between Simmonsville Road and Buck Island Road. The second will be on Highway 46 by New Riverside subdivision. The check points will start at 8:00pm and end approximately 2:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2009.

Officers will be looking at vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and insurance cards. They will be enforcing all appropriate state laws to guarantee the well-being of everyone using the roadways.

Also, if you are going to use alcoholic beverages this weekend, the Bluffton Police Department recommends that someone in your group be the designated driver. If no one can drive you, please call for a taxi to provide a safe way home.
