With the bridges and most of the roads in our nation's capital closed during the presidential inauguration, many people are trying to find a way into the city on the big day.
Now, a Virginia-based company is offering a unique solution: take a water taxi.
The nation's capital lies just up the Potomac River from Alexandria.
The Riverside City is a haven for all types of boats.
But it's the water taxi that's trying to get your inaugural attention now.
It's offering $50 one-way and $90 dollar roundtrips to Washington's southwest waterfront inaugural day beginning at 6 a.m.
Willem Polak, President of the Potomac Riverboat Company, says "see the monuments and see all of those great Coast Guard cutters out here as you make this trip. It's short. You've got seats and refreshments on board. It's the way to go."
The president of the Potomac Riverboat Company told news four he's got approval of the Coast Guard which basically is locking down most boat traffic that day.
The company is taking reservation online and touting the traffic-free commute.
Willem Polak says "this is a great way to get into the nation's capital. You don't have to worry about transportation as far as cars and being pushed on a Metro. You can grab a seat on our boat, relax and in 35 or 40 minutes we'll have you to the southwest river front."
