Four suspects are facing serious charges after Effingham County patrol deputies spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the scene of a commercial burglary which occurred at a Subway in Guyton, GA.
A deputy was patrolling nearby when it was brought to his attention that the front door of Subway was ajar. As the deputy was on the scene clearing the building for suspects, he observed a suspicious green Ford Taurus leaving the area with its lights off.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the suspicious vehicle at little Mccall Road. Sheriff’s deputies located items which were taken from the burglary inside the vehicle.
Robert Causey, 20, of Guyton, has been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and theft by receiving stolen property.
William Andrew Toth III, 17, of Springfield, has been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, and theft by receiving stolen property.
Christopher Aaron Taylor, 18, of Rincon, has been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and theft by receiving stolen property.
A 16 year old juvenile is facing similar charges and was turned over to the department of juvenile justice.
Sheriff McDuffie said “ Increased patrols around commercial businesses and alert Sheriff’s deputies doing their job, led to the quick apprehension of these burglary suspects. “
The Guyton Police Department arrived on scene after the subjects were taken into custody and the building was cleared. They will be handling warrant procedures.
