A lot of folks are concerned about whether the weather will be cold enough to freeze pipes—something WSAV asked one plumber about this afternoon.
When asked if the forecast holds, should people be concerned about their pipes, Mark Jacobs from Mr. Rooter Plumbing told us, "I would say there are some isolated situations where people should take precautions. Folks that have exposed pipes under their houses or raised up houses need to take some precautions, wrap some insulation it, at the minimum they can wrap some towels around the outside house bibs."
Leaving an inside faucet dripping can also help. Jacobs says generally it takes a couple of days of temperatures in the teens or 20's for pipes to freeze, though. He adds it's also a good idea to know where your water shutoff valve is just in case.
