Road Closures For MLK Day Parade

Road closures and tow away zones are being established and will become effective at 6 a.m. Monday. Any vehicles parked on the street in these areas will be towed and police want everyone to understand it will be at the vehicle owner's expense.

Savannah Metro Police will close the following streets for the MLK Day Parade beginning at 6 a.m. Monday.
--MLK Boulevard will be closed from north of Gwinnett St. to East Broughton St.
--East Broughton St. will be closed between MLK Blvd. and East Broad St.
--East Broad St. will be closed between East Broughton St. and East Liberty St.

Again, the road closures take effect at 6 a.m. Monday. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will run until 1 to 2 p.m. Streets will re-open as the parade passes. A reminder again: Vehicles parked on the above streets after 6 a.m. will be towed at the owner's expense.
In addition, there will be barricades in certain locations along the parade route, also going up at 6 a.m. Monday to limit people crossing the parade route on foot.
